Announcements for week of May 3rd-7th

Hello Parents,

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week.  Please let your teacher know how much you appreciate them. 

2nd grade field trip:  2nd grade will be taking its last field trip of the year to the zoo on Friday, May 14th. Your child will need to have paid $10.00 and turned in a permission slip by Thursday, May 13th.

On the morning of May 14th, you will need to bring your child to school no later than 7:15. We will be leaving at 7:30. Your child will be home in time to catch the bus. It is important to be on time because we don't want anyone to get left.

Konnoak Updates for April 20th

• Progress reports go home on April 20th
• Parents of 5th grade students: Please read letter that will be sent home on April 20th in regard to a survey
• All K-4 grade parents will receive a Race/Ethnicity letter to complete.  Please complete the form and submit back to your teacher.
• Cookie Dough will be here on Thursday. Mr. Lyles will be at Konnoak on Thursday to distribute
• 1st grade will be on a field trip on Friday

Parent Updates March 8th

Basketball Game:  Please make plans to attend the Konnaok Staff vs. Sam's Club Baskeball Game on April 9th from 6 -10 pm at the Griffin Annex Center.  It will be a fun event!
March 16th-Progress Reports go home
March 22-K-2 Data Night starting at 5:30 pm.  We need you to be present as we will be reviewing strategies to help your child be successful on the K-2 Assessments as well as a program called DIBELS. We will be serving Pizza.  Please make sure you send in the number of people who will attend as we need this to order the necessary amount of pizza, drinks, and cookies.
March 25th-3-5 Data Night starting at 5:30 pm. We need you to be present as we will be reviewing strategies to help your child be successful on the End-of-Grade tests. We will be serving Pizza. Please make sure you send in the number of people who will attend as we need this to order the necessary amount of pizza, drinks, and cookies.
March 26th-Multiplication Tournament
March 29th-Student Day
March 30th-April 2nd- Spring Break
April 5th-School assumes regular schedule

Parent Update February 14th

• We will have school on Monday, February 15th
• Science Night has been rescheduled for February 16th starting at 5:30 pm
• 2nd grade will be going on a field trip to The Children's Theatre to see Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad on Feb. 25th. The cost of the field trip is $7.00. Please send all money and field trip permission slips signed as soon as possible.
• Make up days are as follows:
• February 1st will be made up on June 9th
• February 2nd will be made up on June 10th
• February 3rd will be made up on March 29th
• February 5th will be made up on February 15th
• Heart to Heart Dance on Friday, February 19th from 5:30-7:30.  Cost is $2 for admission or $3 for admission and refreshments.
• Next Pizza Hut night is Thursday, Feb. 25th – eat more pizza.
• Kindergarten registration will start on February 18th and 19th at Konnoak Elementary for all children who will turn 5 on or before August 31st.
• Early Pickup: Due to safety reason, we will not allow students to be dismissed from 2:00-2:30 unless you have an emergency. If you have scheduled doctor’s appointment, please pick you child up prior to 2pm
• Tardies: If you bring your child to school after 8 am, please park and sign him/her in.

Snow Makeup Days

Hello Parents,


Please note the makeup days due to our recent snow. Makeup days for Feb. 1 and 2 will be June 9 and 10.

Remaining makeup days are March 29, March 30, June 11 and June 14, if necessary. Days would be used in that order.

Wednesday, 1/20 : Math Inactive EOQ (Reading and Science Make-Ups)
Thursday, 1/21 : Math Active EOQ (Make-Ups continue)
Friday, 1/22 : Make-Ups

Teacher Workday on January 25th. School will be closed for students.

2nd grade is also going to the Children's Theatre to see the play Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad on Feb. 25th. The cost is $7.00 1st grade wing renovations have started. The completion date is scheduled for March 22nd.

Krispy Kreme doughnut fundraiser has been extended to January 22nd
